Riversleigh D Site interpretive sign project
Client: Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships
Storyflight was engaged to develop an interpretive concept and write sign copy for the World Heritage-listed Riversleigh D Site. The plan built on existing concepts for an outdoor architectural structure.
The approach needed to honour the scientific significance of the site in a way that could be readily understood and appreciated by visitors.
Storyflight worked with the project team to explore site opportunities. By conducting extensive research, we developed an approach that met the needs of visitors, as well as the World Heritage Scientific and Advisory Committee.
Deliverables:
Detailed research
Concept planning and design brief
Sign copy
Questions asked:
How should the interpretive approach respond to the hot, dry climate?
How can we make significant scientific discoveries accessible to visitors?
How can a journey of discovery be embedded in the visitor experience?
Approach: sequential, evocative, accessible.
