Currawinya National Park interpretive sign project
Client: Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships
Storyflight was engaged to plan and write interpretive content for a series of eleven signs in Currawinya National Park.
The interpretive content has a strong focus on the cultural heritage of the protected area and region. Storyflight met with a representative of the Budjiti People to discuss how First Nations stories could be presented on the signs. We then wrote content that explored recent history while honouring the enduring connection that the Budjiti People have to their country.
Deliverables:
Site and concept planning
Consultation with Traditional Owner representatives
Research and sign copy
Questions asked:
What are the visitor’s priorities and what do they already know?
How can we share the hidden stories that shaped this landscape?
How will interpretation present multiple perspectives of the past?
Approach: expressive, authentic, cohesive
